SOCIAL WELFARE

MOWELFUND’s Social Welfare Program aims to help the marginalized and underserved movie workers, who work on a per-picture basis such as stuntmen, bit players, technicians, checkers, make-up artists, cameramen, props men, and other film crew members who do not have private insurances.

For the past 45 years, MOWELFUND has extended medical aid to more than 5,000 beneficiaries and death aid to more than 900 beneficiaries.

The Social Welfare Program provides well-deserved assistance to its members. Each member may avail of the following benefits:

A. MEDICAL HEALTH BENEFITS

  1. MEDICAL AID
    PhP 7,000.00 per confinement, maximum of three (3) confinements per year
  2. SURGICAL AID
    PhP 12,000.00 per confinement, maximum of one (1) confinement per year.
  3. CONTINUING MEDICATION
    PhP 3,000.00 cost of medicines given once a year.
  4. ANNUAL FREE CLINIC DAY
    On its anniversary every March, a Free Clinic Day for beneficiaries and their families is conducted providing free medical and dental services, with fun and games for their children.

B. DEATH AID

Death assistance of PhP 25,000.00 payable to dependents of beneficiaries or directly to the attending funeral parlor.

C. LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM

Alternative means of giving additional benefits to members and their beneficiaries through seminars and trainings on various livelihood programs as source of additional income such as: Basic Computer Literacy, Basic Hair Cutting, Reflexology, Food Processing, Food Cooking, Candle Making, Food Cart Business, Cleansing Liquids Production and Water Bonsai Making, etc.

D. HOUSING PROGRAM

The Mowelfund housing project  is a tie-up with the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the San Jose Del Monte City Local Government in Bulacan. The project is located in Barangay Gaya-Gaya, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Initially, twenty (20) families were qualified to avail of the housing project after undergoing a series of screenings/evaluation to meet the prescribed requirement.
