Edgardo De Jesus Vinarao, aka “Boy” Vinarao, a product of Mapua Institute of Technology, has been in the film industry since 1975. He started as a Film Editor –  made more than 300 local and foreign movies. In 1993, he was given an opportunity to direct a film that started his career as a film director.

He was given a Hall of Fame Award by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) for receiving more than five (5) Best in Editing Awards. He also won several Best Editing awards from various Awards giving bodies such as URIAN, Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) and Star Awards for Movies.

As Film Director, he has been nominated several times for his exemplary works and received the Best Director Award for the film “Birador” which stars Rudy Fernandez. He has directed more than 20 films. Aside from movies, he also directed television shows for GMA7 Network for more than five years.
